River Horse Expeditions was historically one of the first canoe safari operators in the Lower Zambezi and we proudly have a 20-year safety record.

Our Guides are extremely respectful - affording wildlife right of way whilst on the water and allowing hippo, in particular, space to seek the safety of deep water. After many years of being on the river, our guides have developed an intimate knowledge of how best to navigate their groups safely downstream. We take all necessary precautions to ensure our guests have a safe and pleasurable canoeing experience with us. Our Guides have been trained and qualified through the National Guides Association and each have spent years gaining the necessary river experience required to lead these trips.
